What Causes Stretch Marks?

What are Stretch Marks?

Stretch marks can appear on anyone at any point in their life, whether you are a teenager or in your 30’s, they do not discriminate.

Stretch Marks appear as fine lines in your skin and are most commonly found on:

Although they are not limited to these places on the body. Stretch marks are completely normal and almost everyone will deal with them throughout their lives.

What are Stretch Marks Caused By?

Stretch marks may occur when you experience quick growth or weight gain/ loss. This often happens during puberty or even pregnancy. Although our skin is quite stretchy, it can still be overstretched. This causes your normal production of collagen to be disrupted. (Collagen is the major protein that makes up the tissue in the skin.)

Stretch marks do slightly fade over time but it is recommended that a person should receive treatment if they wish for the stretch marks to appear less noticeable, faster.

How Can We Help?

Here at Heights Aesthetic Laser Center, we make it a goal to help you look and feel your absolute best. Although stretch marks are a completely normal part of life, many may not want them which is also perfectly reasonable.

We offer a combination of two treatments to help you get rid of your unwanted stretchmarks. These would be:

This treatment delivers radiofrequency (RF) microneedling. During treatment, your provider uses the Genius device to microneedle your skin, creating tiny pinpricks on the surface of your skin. Those pinpricks help to break up scar tissue while stimulating your body’s healing processes.

The Genius device also directs RF energy into your skin, which stimulates the production of collagen and elastin. These are the proteins that keep your skin tight, smooth, and elastic. Together, the radiofrequency and microneedling help to improve your skin’s tone and texture, minimizing the appearance of your scar(s). LaseMD is used to further resurface your skin. This creates microchannels in your skin, further triggering your body’s regeneration processes, including the production of collagen and elastin.
